5) Fasten the casing to the motor using eight M10 screws.
Remove the casing assembly equipment (M12 nut, washer and tie rod)
and fit the rear cover back in place using three M6x14 screws.

6) Fit the protective net on the front cover and fix it in place with the two
M6x25 screws.

Final checks
Make sure that the axial positioning is correct after hav-
ing terminated all the couplings described above, i.e.
there must be a 3 mm expansion gap between the end
of the ND-bearing and the end of the non-drive end side.

Do not lift the set (motor-generator assembly) by the
alternator eyebolt. This must be used for lifting the al-
ternator alone.
The power cable connections must only be made by
qualified personnel when the machine is at a complete
standstill and disconnected from the power source.
Supply voltage and frequency
These alternators are designed to supply the voltage and frequency specified
on the rating plate.

5. GENERAL NOTES
Operation in particular conditions:
If the alternator is going to be used as part of a soundproofed genset make
sure that only fresh air enters it. This can be ensured by placing the air inlet of
the alternator near the outside air intake. The quantity of air required by the
alternator is: 5 to 8 m
/min.

Bearings
The bearings are self-lubricated and therefore do not requires maintenance for
a period of over 30,000 operating hours. When the genset required a general
overhaul it is advisable to wash the bearings in a suitable solvent and to remove
and replace the grease reserve.
The following types of grease can be used: Agip Gr MW3 - Shell Alvania 3 -
MOBIL OIL MOBILUX GREASE 3 or other equivalent types of grease.

Diode bridges
25A -1200V diode bridges are used.
Diode bridge checkout
Each individual diode of the rectifier bridge can be checked using either an
ohmmeter or a battery and relative lamp, as described below.
A diode works regularly when:
-
the resistance measured with an ohmmeter is very low in one sense and
very high in the other.
