1. WARNING
Transport
For information regarding the delivery of condensing units,
please refer to our sales terms and conditions.
Involvement
All technician staff servicing the unit must be trained and
qualified according to the local regulation.
This condensing unit and all related equipment must be
installed by qualified staff.
The installation should be carried out in accordance with the
relevant refrigeration and electrical standards which apply in
that country.
TECUMSEH EUROPE S.A.S shall not, under any circumstances, be
liable if the installation and maintenance are not carried out, in
accordance with the instructions given in this manual, in respect
of good refrigeration practice, and in compliance with the
regulations of the country.
Be aware that after a main supply voltage cut out, the unit can
restart automatically depending on the state of the control
components. Isolator must be electrically locked before any
involvement on the SILENSYS unit.
While servicing, ensure that flammable refrigerant cannot enter
in the electrical compartment when it is under voltage.
To respect the above safety instruction, ensure that there isn't
any refrigerant gas in the electrical box when closing it.
Before and after commissioning ensures that there isn't any
refrigerant inside and surrounding the compartments of the
Silensys® Advanced.

3. TECHNICAL DATA
3.1. Identification label for the Silensys
range
See Appendix 2
3.2. Safety devices
All units are supplied with an adjustable HP / LP pressure
switch, with a 0,5 A maximum current rating, a isolator lockable
in the ON or OFF position as well as a thermal breaker on the
power circuit
and a Panel fan coupled with a working detector.
. This safety pressostat can only be used with the refrigerants
mentioned on its cover (R1234yf, R455A, R454C).

4. INSTALLATION
4.1. Unpacking
Before opening the packaging, check that it hasn't been damaged.
Check the 'TiltWatch' sticker to make sure of correct transportation and
storage
4.2. Handling
The packaged condensing unit can be lifted by forklift or pallet truck. The
unit should therefore be kept in its packaging until it has been moved to
the installation site.
Once the packaging has been removed, Silensys® Advanced units can be
moved or lifted either by forklift or straps according to the model. Units
must not be dragged into position.
4.3. Location
In case of refrigerant leakage, refrigerant should not be able to:
•
•
Silensys® Advanced condensing units should not block or obstruct
thoroughfares, doors, shutters or the movement of personnel. The
surface supporting the condensing unit must be level and capable of
bearing the combined weight of the unit + support.
See table in Appendix 1, for condensing unit weights.
Ensure there is sufficient distance between the condensing unit and
objects in the surrounding area to ensure good air circulation.
See Appendix 4
Silensys® Advanced condensing units must be installed in well-ventilated
but not windy locations. Ensure there is good air circulation to the
condenser. There must be no obstacles in front or to the side of the unit
which would cause air recirculation to the condenser. This will avoid
among others an abnormally high condensation temperature. The unit
must be set up in a level position. For units installed at high altitude, it is
necessary to take into account the effect of the density of the air.

In case of installation of SILENSYS in a machinery room, take into
account that its fan does not provide static pressure. It isn't ductable.
Spacing written in Appendix 3 are defined in order to avoid any air re-
circulation around the unit.
In a free space, in accordance with the standard EN60079-10-1, the
distances written in appendix 4 define a volume around the product to
evacuate the refrigerant in case of leakage.
It is mandatory to check that a refrigerant leakage cannot be able to
enter in a building or in a confined space

See Appendix 3
SILENSYS must be installed outside, in a free volume ensuring
air renewal, or in a machinery room in accordance with the
standard EN378-3
The Authorised refrigerants for the SILENYS
heavier than air. Then the unit will be installed on the ground
or above to avoid any accumulation of flammable
refrigerant.
SILENSYS ADVANCED will be located and installed, so that any
refrigerant leakage cannot enter in a building and cannot
endanger people or goods.
Evacuate in air ducts, or under a door, through a hatch or through
any similar opening
Reach a volume containing some ignition source as defined by
standard EN378-2.
