PREPARE LUMINAIRE BODY AND STEM:
3.
3a.
Determine desired overall stem length. (2) 12" and (1) 6" stem sections
are provided. (NOTE: If a longer suspension is desired, an optional stem
extension kit with two additional 12" and one 6" stem sections is available.)
The wires from the fixture body consist of a twisted pair of RED and BLACK
power feeds next to a GREEN ground wire. Feed the wires through stem
sections individually, then screw the sections together rather than feeding
the wires through a continuous long stem.
3b.
MAKE CERTAIN THAT THE DESIRED STEM LENGTH HAS BEEN ACHIEVED
BEFORE CUTTING WIRES. A total of 70" of wires have been provided.
Trim the excess wire so that 7" of each of the three colors remain
beyond the end of the stem. Strip off approximately ½" of the insulation
on each wire. WARNING: It is not possible to lengthen the wire after it has
been trimmed, so be absolutely certain of the stem length.
3c.
Feed the CANOPY COVER onto the stem as shown.
Identify the MOUNTING PLATE and drivers. Detach drivers from the
3d.
MOUNTING PLATE by undoing the (2) two #8-32 x 1" fasteners. Save the
fasteners.
(Figure 3d)
Loosen the CONTAINMENT TAB by loosening the (2) #8-32 fasteners. The
3e.
HALF BALL should be removable at this point. Feed the MOUNTING PLATE
(Figure 3e)
on to the stem.
