Do not use the ContiComfortKit if the tyre was severely damaged (e.g. if the tyre
has bulges, cuts, cracks or similar defects). Only seal punctured areas located
well within the tread region of the tyre. Damage to the sidewall may not be repaired
for safety reasons.
What to do when a tyre is punctured
The puncture is repaired in two stages. First you pump the sealing compound and air into
the tyre. Next you drive a short distance to spread the compound in the tyre. Afterwards
you check the inflation pressure and, if necessary, pump more air into the tyre. Then you
can continue your journey.

Stage: Pump sealing compound and air into the tyre
1 Peel off the sticker (b) - reminding of the speed restriction (80 km/h / 50 mph) - from
the casing and affix it to the instrument panel in the driver's field of view.
2 Ensure that the orange switch (c) of the compressor is in the "0" position.
3 Remove the hose and cable from the storage compartment at the side (d).
4 Unscrew the valve cap of the defective tyre.
5 Screw the hose (e) firmly onto the valve of the defective tyre.
6 Loosen the safety catch (f) of the orange sealing compound container and rotate the
container upwards through 90° until it clicks in place (g).
7 Plug the electric plug (h) into the socket of the cigarette lighter (12 volt connection, see
service manual of the vehicle).
8 Start the engine (only if the vehicle is outdoors.)
If the engine is left running in a badly ventilated or in an unventilated location
(e.g. inside a building) there is a danger of suffocation!
9 Switch the orange switch (c) to "I".
10
Please note: When the sealing compound is pumped through the tyre valve the pres-
sure could increase to between 4 and 6 bar (58 and 87 psi), but it will be drop again
after about 30 seconds.
During the pumping operation do not stand next to the damaged tyre. Check the
sidewall of the tyre for unusual bulges or deformations. Discontinue the pumping
operation and deflate the tyre by using the pressure release (i), if any unusual
behaviour of the tyre is noticed.
