Evaluation
Most of the parameters stipulated in ISO (DIN),
JIS ANSI/ASME and MOTIF are available to eval-
uate the measured profile.
The evaluation conditions can be adjusted: The
reference line and intersection line for material
ratio Rmr or tp, symmetrical or asymmetrical
intersection lines for peak count RPc and the
mean width of profile elements RSm, operators A
and B for the MOTIF evaluation, and intersection
lines for zone widths CR, CF, CL.
In order to monitor tolerances, tolerance limits
can be set for all selected parameters. Any
exceeded limits are indicated on the screen (and
in the measuring record).
Results and settings can be displayed in either
metric or imperial units.
Up to 3,900 profiles, 500,000 results or 1,500
meas uring records can be saved in the internal
memory.
3
The profile, the results and/or the measuring re-
cord of a measurement can be saved manually
or automatically. The file name of profiles and
measuring records may be composed of four dif-
ferent texts (profile information) plus Date_time.
A customer-specific logo, a three-line record
header and a five-line profile information may
be displayed in the measuring record.
Interfaces
The MarSurf PS 10 features a slot for a micro SD
or micro SDHC card (up to 32 GB) to which the
profiles, results and/or measuring records can be
saved.
4
Software can be updated if necessary using a
micro SD card supplied by Mahr.
3
These figures apply if files of one particular type are saved.
The figures also depend on the traversing length, the se-
lected parameters and associated profiles and the file
format etc.
4
A 32 GB micro SD card offers 320 times the memory
capacity.
Mahr GmbH, MarSurf PS 10
Measurements can be started on the MarSurf
PS 10 via the MarConnect interface.
The MarSurf PS 10's USB port allows it to be
connected directly to a PC. It is treated like a USB
memory stick and detected without a driver. This
means that measuring results and profiles can
be transferred to the computer for evaluation,
e.g. with the "MarSurf XR 20" evaluation soft-
ware. The "MarCom Standard" or "MarCom
Pro fes sional" software can be used to transfer
the meas uring results directly from the MarSurf
PS 10 in various file formats (e.g. Microsoft Excel).
Accessories
The extensive range of accessories for the MarSurf
PS 10 makes it extremely versatile. Examples:
The optional hand-held support (6910434)
allows the drive unit to be set up separately
from the evaluation instrument or attached
to a measuring stand.
For measuring objects such as crankshafts
or camshafts which are measured in the axi-
al direction, an alternative MarSurf RD 18 C2
drive unit (6910427) with a traversing length
of max. 4.8 mm (0. 1 9 in) is available for
trans verse tracing.
The measuring results can be transferred to
a PC using Bluetooth® Smart technology
with the optional wireless system (4102230,
4102231).
Operating conditions
Storage/transport temperature range:
-15 °C to +60 °C (5°F to 140°F)
Working/operating temperature range:
+10 °C to +45 °C (50°F to 113°F)
Relative humidity:
30% to 85%, non-condensing
Protection rating: IP40
5
The recommended storage temperature for preserving
the battery is max. 30 °C (86°F).
