No preparation is needed for over-the-shoulder strapping configuration.
For axillary strapping configuration:
• Remove strap from the posterior panel (PTE)
• Reattach the free end of the strap to the strap anchor (Fig. 2)
For over-the-shoulder and axillary strapping configuration (requires
purchase of additional kit):
• Remove pectoral disc assemblies from the ball joints on the yoke
(Fig. 3)
• Attach secondary buckles from accessory kit over the ball joints into
the groove (Fig. 4)
• Reattach the pectoral disc assemblies onto the ball joints
• Attach the free end of the strap from the accessory kit to the strap
anchors (Fig. 2)
OVER-THE-SHOULDER MIAMI TLSO BRACE (ATE+PTE) APPLICATION
1. Log roll the patient onto their side. Omit this step if fitting in standing
position. If standing, patient must stand with back straight and chest
out.
2. Position the belt by centering the posterior panel (PTE) over the
spine, with bottom of posterior panel approximately at the
sacrococcygeal joint. (Fig. 5).
3. Log roll the patient back into the supine position. Omit this step if
fitting in standing position.
4. Wrap the lumbar belt around the waist and through Össur Fit Tool
(Fig. 6).
5. Adjust length of belt arms to position tool centrally. Secure the hook
and loop tabs to desired sizing (Fig. 7).
6. Remove Össur Fit Tool from belt.
Note: If an Össur Fit Tool is not available, use sizing guide (Fig. 8) to
estimate best patient fit based on waist circumference. Simply fold or
trim the belt arms at the suggested location. If patient's waist exceeds
50" (127 cm), an extension belt can be added to each belt arm to
reach a maximum belt circumference of 70" (178 cm).
7. Place belt ends into the overlap closures (Fig. 9).
8. To obtain the lowest profile fit, the belt arm ends can be trimmed if
later adjustments are not required.
Note:
– Once belt ends are secured in overlap closures, the overlap
closures will serve as belt ends.
– Panels can be customized by heat-molding, grinding, or trimming,
to achieve correct patient fit.
9. Place the anterior thoracic extension (ATE) onto the patient's front,
centering the anterior panel on the abdomen with the bottom edge
just above the symphysis pubis, while still allowing the patient to sit
