Never remove the grounding prong from the plug. Do not use the tool if the power cord or plug
is damaged. If it is damaged, have it repaired by a quali ed technician before use. If the plug does
not t into the outlet, have a quali ed electrician install a new outlet.
12.1 Tools with grounding: tools with three-prong plugs.
1. Tools marked "Requires Grounding" have a three-line cord and a three-prong grounding plug.
The plug must be connected to a properly grounded outlet. If the tool malfunctions or breaks
down, grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user, reducing
the risk of electric shock. (See 3-pin plug and output).
2. The grounding prong is connected through the green wire inside the main wire to the tool's
grounding system. The green wire on the wire must be the only wire connected to the tool's
grounding system and should never be connected to an electrically "live" terminal. (See 3-pin
plug and output).
3.The tool must be plugged into an appropriate outlet, properly installed and grounded in accor-
dance with all codes and ordinances. The plug and socket should be similar to those in the illus-
tration above. (See 3-pin plug and output).
