Important notes

Important notes on the agreement pertaining to copyright, liability
and warranty, over the User group and the obligation of the
entrepreneur are available in the instructions "Common-rail tester
set device specification 1 687 001 845" (1 689 979 863).
2.

Safety instructions

All safety instructions are available in the separate operating
instructions "Safety instructions for the EPS, KMA, MGT 812,
MGT 801W and supplementary equipment sets" (1 689 979 860).
These are to be read thoroughly before using the Bosch tester and
they must be observed.
3.

General information

These instructions are a supplement to the existing instructions
for the EPS 815 injection pump test bench, the KMA 802/822
electronic metering system and the CRS 845 common-rail
supplementary equipment set. These instructions are only valid in
combination with the existing instructions and they must be kept
and forwarded with them.
Please note that the chapter entitled "General information" for the
EPS 815 injection pump test bench, the KMA 802 electronic
metering system and the CRS 845 tester set is available in the
corresponding operating instructions.
3.1

Use

The given operating instructions specify the preparation of the CP
2 common-rail pumps for pump tests on the EPS in combination
with the CRS 845 tester set and the supplementary equipment
sets 1 687 010 134 or 1 687 010 146.
3.2

Operating preconditions

– CRS 845 tester set
– Control printed circuit board
– Connector cable
– Suction line for supply
– KMA system software with version number >1.60
3.3

User group

Skilled personnel with operating knowledge on the EPS 815, on
the CRS 845 tester set and with knowledge of the pump test in
diesel workshops. A training course in the AA or RG training
center must be undertaken. For your own safety and to ensure
that the device does not suffer any damage through improper
handling, the operating instructions have to be thoroughly read
through and adhered to.

Figure 1: Preparation for common-rail pump
Procedure:
1. Insert O-rings Ø8x1.8 mm (1) into closing plate (2).
2. To seal the lubricating oil return line on the common-rail
pump, mount the closing plate (2) using hexagon bolts
(M6x12) and washers (A6,4).

i Before mounting the clamping flange (3), select a suitable
1 684 462 511
hole pattern for the pump fastening.
3. Mount clamping flange (3).
i Depending on the hole pattern of the common-rail pump it
may be that the screwed connection (4) for the lubricating
oil connection on the underside of the clamping flange (3)
has been screwed into place. In this case, undo the
screwed connection (4) on the underside of the clamping
flange (3) and then screw it back onto the upper side of the
clamping flange (3).
4. Screw the screwed connection (4) for the lubricating oil
supply into the clamping flange (3).
5. Clamp the common-rail pump onto the EPS.
i The necessary clamping parts and couplings are listed in
the special accessories catalog for the EFEP / EPS (order
number 1 689 980 289).
