Infant/Child Key
As soon as the training pads are connected, the FRx announces "TRAINING."
The blue i-button on the defibrillator starts flashing. (If the Infant/Child Key is
inserted, the defibrillator will say "INFANT/CHILD MODE" when the On/Off
button is pressed.)
As a safety precaution, the defibrillator will instruct you to remove the training
pads and connect a set of SMART Pads II in case of an emergency. It will then
invite you to press the flashing blue button to choose a training scenario.
NOTE: If you do not press the blue i-button within 30 seconds after
connecting the training pads, the defibrillator will go to standby training
mode and the green Ready light will blink.
To train in infant/child defibrillation, insert the Infant/Child Key into the slot at
the top center of the front panel of the FRx. The pink portion of the Infant/Child
Key pivots (A) and fits into the slot (B), with the front of the key lying flat on the
surface of the FRx so the pediatric pads placement diagram is visible. The
Infant/Child Key can be inserted either before or after the training pads are
connected to the FRx. If the Key is inserted after a scenario is running, the
scenario will restart from the beginning.

TO SELECT A TRAINING SCENARIO

The default training scenario is
number 1. After plugging in the
training pads, press the On/Off
button to use this scenario. The
defibrillator will not announce
the scenario number.
To select a different scenario, after connecting the training pads, press the
flashing blue i-button to scroll through the eight scenarios in sequence. The
defibrillator announces each scenario by number as you press the button. When
you reach the scenario number you want, press and hold the On/Off button
until the defibrillator turns off, or wait for 10 seconds and it will automatically go
into standby training mode.
To select a training scenario when the device is already in training standby mode
(the training pads are connected and the green Ready light is flashing), press the
blue i-button to access scenario selection, then press it again to scroll through
the scenarios and make your selection.
