OPERATING & SERVICING MANUAL
Figure 2.4: Guard Mounting
4. Feed the Dump Valve Air Supply Line through the hole in the right of the front panel and connect
to the bulkhead air fitting.
5. Feed the test oil supply and return hoses through the holes in the left side of the front panel, and
re-connect to the machine bulkhead.
6. Connect the Guard Switch Extension Lead A069B814 between the Dump Valve cable on the
guard and the EXT1 socket at the back of the console.
CAUTION
Always switch off the test stand 3-phase supply before connecting or
disconnecting any cables from the EXT1 and EXT2 sockets.
NOTE:
This cable may not be required, depending on the test equipment used (some Hartridge
control boxes have built-in cables to connect to the Dump Valve and EXT1 socket).
7. Switch on the machine 3-phase and re-boot or reset the PC.
8. Open and close the guard doors. When the doors are closed, ensure that the pressure gauge
indicates pressure and that the solenoid 'on' indicator is illuminated. When either door is opened,
ensure that the air pressure falls to zero and that the solenoid 'on' indicator is off.
9. Start the fuel and the drive (30rpm). Open the guard door. Check that the drive stops. Check that
the drive cannot be started with the door open.
The safety guard is not a permanent fixture and so can be removed when not testing Common Rail
pumps. Removal is the reverse of the above procedure.
