remain on charge for a longer period without
damage or danger.
But please note that the battery pack charging
time has a direct effect on the operating time
available. After two hours' charge only, the
battery will last for about 65 minutes. After a
10-hour charge, however, the unit can be
operated for around 100 minutes before the
battery is exhausted.
If you experience a considerable decrease in
trimming performance, or if the LCD display
shows red, switch off the appliance and
recharge the battery. The hair trimmer may
also be used by means of the adapter. In this
case, however, the battery must be briefly
charged for approximately 10 minutes. The
charging process only starts when the unit is
switched off, and is shown by the charge
symbol on the LCD display (see 'LCD display').
- Insert the connecting plug of the adapter
into the corresponding jack on the
appliance.
- Insert the adapter into a suitable wall
socket. The charging process begins
automatically and is shown on the LCD
display. It will only start if the unit has been
switched off.
- After around 10 minutes of charging time,
the colour in the display changes from red
to blue.
- The charging cycle is complete once the
indicator '100' stops flashing in the display.
Always remove the adapter from the wall
socket before disconnecting the jack from
the appliance.
- While charging, the transformer within the
adapter will become warm. This is perfectly
normal and safe and does not indicate a
malfunction of any kind.
- If the appliance has not been used for a
long period, the capacity of the battery may
decrease by a certain amount. However,
full capacity will be restored after several
charge/discharge cycles.
LCD-Display
The display shows the battery state both in
percent and by the number of graphic bars in
the battery symbol. With sufficient battery
capacity remaining, the display shows blue.
Once it changes to red, the battery pack needs
to be recharged.
During charging, the battery state is also
shown both in percent and by the number of
graphic bars in the battery symbol. Once a
percentage figure stops flashing, the battery-
pack charge has reached that level.
Use
Adjusting the cutting length
The fine-adjustment mechanism on the
appliance allows for a cutting-length
adjustment ranging from 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm
without the use of attachments.
The push-on combs extend the length range
and are fitted over the trimming comb. The
combs are of the following sizes: 4-6 mm,
10-12 mm, 16-18 mm, 22-24 mm und 28-30
mm. The 4-6 mm attachment combined with
the 0.5 mm fine adjustment on the appliance,
for example, will produce a cutting length of 4
mm, while a fine adjustment of 2.5 mm will
result in a cutting length of 6 mm.
The thinning head is useful for thinning out the
hair.
When fitting a push-on comb, ensure that it is
secured by the two locking buttons on the
sides of the appliance.
To remove a push-on comb, push it away
sideways using your thumb.
Operation
■
Before each use, always put a few drops of
acid-free oil between the trimming comb
and the trimming blade.
- The hair should first be combed, and then
generally cut against its natural direction.
- For longer hair-cuts use a push-on comb or
a normal comb.
- Cut from bottom to top with the trimming
comb lying against the head; lead the
appliance upwards through the hair, moving
it gradually away from the head at the same
time.
- For a shaped cut, reverse the appliance
