Precautions
• In cases of functional change or loss, the user should immediately
cease using the device, and contact their practitioner. This may be the
result of device damage or changes in the residual limb.
• The device should be used in combination with a suitable Iceross
Seal-In X Seal. If the device is used as a cushion liner without a seal, a
sleeve must be used to maintain suspension.
SIZING
Precaution: Selecting the correct device size is essential. Selecting a size
which is too small/tight may result in pistoning, numbness, or blistering.
Selecting a size which is too large/loose, may result in increased
perspiration and movement of the limb inside the device, which may lead
to blisters and rashes. If any of the above symptoms, or any other
indication of improper fit are experienced, the user should contact their
practitioner immediately.
To determine the correct device size:
• Measure the circumference of the residual limb 4cm from the distal
end.
• Choose the corresponding device size (Figure 1). If the measurement
taken does not have a corresponding device size, round the
measurement down.
NB: Never choose a device size which exceeds the measurement, i.e. do
NOT round up.
E.g.: If the residual limb measures 24,5cm at the indicated location,
choose device size 23,5 NOT size 25.
Trimming
The device may be trimmed to increase range of motion, or for user
preference (Figure 2). The Iceross Curve Master is specifically designed to
produce a smooth, rounded edge when trimming, minimizing the risk of
skin irritation and device tears.
Precaution: Do not cut the device below the proximal trim-lines of the
socket. Excessive trimming may reduce the suction between the device
and limb, and compromise suspension.
