Adjusting hood to correct size
Illustration on the fold-out page (figure B)
1. Select the size in the chart (see "Technical data", page 14).
The measurements in the size chart serve as reference values. Ensure a
tight but comfortable fit when you select the hood.
2. Adjust the support ring with the aid of the quick adjustment systems. To do
this press the buckle together at the sides and adjust the numbered band to
the desired position.
–
Adjusting the head circumference: The numbers are for orientation and
correspond to the head circumference in centimetres.
–
Adjusting the head height: The numbers are for orientation. Size 1
represents a small and size 5 a large setting.
Adjust the support ring in such a way that the hood fits comfortably and safely
and optimum visibility is ensured.
4.1.2
Donning the hood
WARNING
Danger due to oxygen deficiency and CO
► Wait to don the hood until it is connected with the respiratory protective
device and breathable air is available.
1. Remove transport foil from visor.
2. Put on the hood. The support ring rests on the centre of the forehead and
surrounds the head. The face cuff runs under the chin, over the ears and
along the back of the head.
3. Make sure that the support ring is completely positioned within the sealing
area.
4. Check hood fit. The hood fit must be tight, safe and comfortable. If
necessary, use the quick adjustment system to increase the wearing
comfort.
5. Push the lower section of the bib on longer hoods underneath the protective
