UnitiQute 2 Quick Start Guide

1 I n st allin g and Connecting

• Stand UnitiQute 2 on a stable surface and ensure it is well ventilated.

• C heck that the mains supply specified on the UnitiQute 2 rear panel is appropriate for
your territory. Connect UnitiQute 2 to the mains using the supplied cable but do not
switch it on until all other connections have been made.
• I dentify the Signal Ground
connected in a hi-fi system incorporating another earthed source component, or mains
hum is audible through the loudspeakers once UnitiQute 2 is switched on.
• C onnect the left and right speakers to the speaker
when connecting the speakers that the positive and negative connection orientation at
both ends of the cable is the same for both channels.
• I f the UnitiQute 2 DAB/FM tuner is to be used, a suitable aerial must be connected to the
DAB/FM aerial socket. The DAB/FM tuner cannot operate without an aerial. Contact your
local Naim retailer or distributor for advice on selecting and installing an aerial.
• I f an external power amplifier or subwoofer is to be used, connect its signal cable to the
preamp output on the UnitiQute 2 rear panel.
• I f any external audio sources are to be used with UnitiQute 2, connect these, using the
appropriate cables, to the front panel USB socket or rear panel analogue or digital
inputs.
• I f an external digital-to-analogue converter, or an amplifier with a digital input, is to be
used with UnitiQute 2, connect it, using the appropriate cable, to the rear panel digital
output.
• I f UnitiQute 2 is to play audio from a UPnP™ server or from an internet radio (iRadio)
station either its network
Ethernet cable or its Wi-Fi Antenna must be fitted to the rear panel Wi-Fi socket. iRadio
also requires a high-speed internet connection.

connected to the UnitiQute
2 front panel input using a
3.5mm stereo jack cable from
their headphone sockets.
