1.3 Scope of delivery

These installation and operating instructions apply to the
Grundfos Control MP 204. The Control MP 204 is a control
cabinet with built-in motor protection.
These instructions only focus on the Control MP 204 control
cabinet.
The main component in the control cabinet is an MP 204 motor
protector. This component is not described in detail in this
manual.
Further documentation supplied with the Control MP 204:
Technical documentation:
– wiring diagram
– parts list
– sectional drawing, etc.

For information on MP 204, see the installation and operating

2. Installing the product

Before installation, check the following:
Checkthat the specifications of the Control MP 204 correspond
to the order
Check the product for transport damage.
Contact the transporter immediately in case of damage.
The Control MP 204 is operated either manually or via remote
access (optional). See section

2.1 Mechanical installation

This section describes the mechanical installation of the Control
MP 204 and also provides general advice about how to position
sensors in order to achieve stable, measured values.
The control cabinet is designed for indoor use, either mounted on
a wall or directly on the floor.
If the product is to be used outdoors, it must be
located in a separate cabinet which is suitable for
outdoor use.
2.1.1 Sensors
To ensure correct and reliable operation of the Control MP 204, it
is important to position and install sensors according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
The sensors must always be correctly sized for the
range they are to measure. If the sensors are too
small, they will be saturated. If they are too big, the
resolution of the sensor signal will be too poor.

Use Grundfos GO Remote to configure Control MP 204. See
4.2 Grundfos GO
Remote.

2.2 Electrical installation

The electrical connection must be carried out by an authorised
electrician in accordance with local regulations.

Before starting any work on the product, make sure
that the power supply has been switched off and that
it cannot be accidentally switched on.
The electrical installation must be carried out according to the
wiring diagram supplied with the Control MP 204.
