12.3 – Do not hammer and strike with other tools the shaft of the motor to
avoid plastic and hidden deformations.
13 – INSTALLATION
Under favourable storage conditions (dry, dust-free and
vibration-free environment), bearing replacement (see para. 4)
is recommended when the interval between motor delivery and
commissioning exceeds four years; under unfavourable
storage conditions the replacement is to be made when the
above interval exceeds two years.
Special protective measures (e.g.: the provision of protective
cover, etc.) should be taken in the case of motors with shaft
end pointing upwards or downwards, or motors exposed to
direct solar irradiation.
13.1 – Assembly of Drivers
To avoid damage to bearings, when fitting pulleys, couplings,
pinions, etc. to drive it is advisable to absorb the lead (or lead-
like) hammer blows at the non-driving end of the shaft, having
previously removed the fan cover.
13.2 – Connection to the Motor-Driven Machine
Direct drive requires absolute alignment, whereas belt drive
requires that the motor axis lies parallel with the driven pulley
to prevent abnormal wear of the bearings.
