4. The clearance below the edge must be at least 5 m.
5. This part of the system must be used in such a manner as to prevent snagging. Only ad-
just the length when the user is not moving towards the edge.
6. In order to prevent falling and subsequent swinging, the working area and the lateral
movement from the central axis to both sides must be limited to a maximum of 1.50 m. In
other cases, single anchoring device should not be used but anchoring device of class D
according to DIN – EN 795 are to be used.
7. Note: When someone falls over an edge, there is risk of injury as the person falling may
bounce against other parts of the building.
8. For the event of a fall over an edge and subsequent swinging movement, special rescue
measures must be laid down and practised.
Personal protective equipment against falls from a height does not release the user from his or
her responsibility but provides an aid for the user's safety in the case of short-time work. It may
only be used as intended and must not be used wrongfully.
PPE may only be used by trained staff and/or by skilled staff or by a user under the direct super-
vision of such a person.
Prior to using the equipment, consideration must be given on how to achieve a safe rescue.
System components may only be exchanged by the manufacturer.

Compatibility
These type MAS S 11 and S 16-H guided type fall arresters may only be used with a suitable
harness (according to DIN - EN 361).
The sewn shock absorber in the D ring must not be altered or extended, otherwise there is a
danger to life.

Inspection
Prior to each use, the guided type fall arrester with flexible anchor line should be subject to a
visual and functional check by the user. Personal protective equipment should be checked by an
expert as required, but at least within a period of twelve months. The manufacturer is an expert
and may entrust other specialists with checking. Personal protective equipment that has been
used in a fall should not be used any more but returned to the manufacturer for checking.
