Screw the connector tightly into the flange (G1/8). Con-
nect the pneumatic connections, with permanent supply
of treated compressed air complying with DIN ISO 8573-
1, 4.4.4 at 0.7 bar gauge pressure.
Barrier air is not needed when there is no contamination
to the spindle mount. In this case, the threaded hole must
be sealed tightly.
Please note that the air barrier must be supplied
for the duration of acute contamination, i.e. pos-
sibly for a time after the end of machining.
2.2.3 c
onnectIon of the pneumatIc cylInder
The Ø6 pipe quick couplings are located on the back of
the unit. Before the spindle is rotated, feed the cylinder
return that is on the chambers and make sure that the
detector detects the rear position of the cylinder.
SOMEX S.A.S. recommends the installation of 2 3/2-way
solenoid valves as shown above for pneumatic ejection.
Working pressure: 5 bar.

Only a qualified person familiar with the safety regulations
may start up the machine.
Always conduct test runs without workpieces.
Check the sense of rotation before starting the machine.
The operator must make sure that the components are
integrated and operate safely in the machine.
Only a qualified person may connect the electrical power
supplies in accordance with the local regulations.
The local grounding regulations must be observed and
implemented, and this implementation inspected.
Do not start the machine until the spindle has come to a
stop.
Use only suitable tools, and never modify tools for an ap-
plication they have not been designed for.
After transport, all electrical and mechanical connections
must be examined for damage and loosening, and any
remedial measures taken.
The machine's working area must be unobstructed and
secured against unauthorized access.
When internal cooling is used, please observe the instal-
lation instructions issued by the manufacturers of the at-
tachment and rotating union.
The motor's and spindle's sense of rotation may be
checked only when there is no tension in the belt. Cor-

recting a wrong sense of rotation involves swapping over

any two of the phase conductors.
