In emergency close the switch lid (d). It will automatically switch
off the bench drill. Reversing contactors switch off when voltage
in control current circuit drops down. Even when the voltage is
restored, the bench drill will not start automatically due to safety
issues. Use the switch to switch it on.
WORK TABLE ADJUSTMENT AND SETTINGS
Work table (3) is fixed to the column clamping ring (4) with a screw
(e). Work table position can be changed around horizontal axis in the
range from 0
0
to 45
0
(left or right, using the scale) .
• Loosen and unscrew the bolt (e) that fix the work table (3) to the
column clamping ring (4) (fig. E).
• Move the work table (3) away from the column clamping ring (4)
and remove the pin for positioning the work table perpendicular
to the spindle.
• Fix the work table (3) to the column clamping ring (4) by slightly
tightening the fixing bolt.
• Set desired angle of the work table (3) (use the scale).
• Tighten the fixing bolt (e).
To return the work table to position perpendicular to the spindle,
follow the above procedure in reversed order. Positioning pin ensures
perpendicular position of the work table.
After bolt with locking wheel of the column clamping ring (15)
is loosened, you can rotate the work table (3) in level plane on the
column circumference, whenever you need to process high object. In
this case fix the processed object to the base (1) directly.
Work table and base of the bench drill feature grooves to attach
vice holders or clamps that enable fixing the processed object.
Always fix processed object using screw machine vice or other
clamp. This way you can avoid the risk of unfortunate accident.
CONTROL OF SPINDLE ROTATIONAL SPEED
Remove plug from power supply socket before making any
adjustment or replacement of V belt.
Rotational speed of the spindle depends on placement of V belt on
conical pulley wheels of the belt transmission.
• Unscrew the screw and remove the belt transmission casing (9).
• Loosen V belt tension locking bolt (10) (fig. F) and move the motor
(11) towards spindle.
• Put V belt on appropriate protrusions of the pulley wheels.
• Move the motor away from the spindle.
• Ensure the tension of the V belt is appropriate – tighten V belt
tension locking bolt (10).
• Close belt transmission casing (9) and secure it with the screw.
Below table illustrates position of V belt on pulley wheels for specified
spindle speeds (rpm).

INSTALLATION OF WORKING TOOLS
Disconnect the bench drill from power supply.
• Lift the drill chuck guard (16).
• Insert key into one of the holes on the circumference of the drill
chuck (17).
• Open drill chuck jaws to desired dimension.
• Insert cylindrical drill shank into the drill chuck (17), push it to the
limit.
• Tighten drill chuck jaws on drill shank with the key (insert it into
three holes on the drill chuck circumference).
• Bring down the drill chuck guard (16).
Remember to always remove the key from the drill chuck after
you finish drill installation or removal.
ADJUSTMENT OF DRILLING DEPTH
Depth gauge is useful when drilling multiple holes with the same depth.
• Loosen nuts (b) of the Drilling depth gauge bolt (6).
• Bring down the spindle so tip of the drill rests on the processed
material.
• Check scale indication.
• Release the spindle so it goes back to upper position.
• Take away the object planned for processing.
• Bring down the spindle, so the scale indicator (c) shows sum of the
measurement values (initial value + drilling depth).
• Set the nuts (b) by turning them on the Drilling depth gauge bolt (6)
in the lower position, tighten (fig. B).
After setting required drilling depth, you can lower the spindle
to that value only.
SPINDLE SLEEVE ADVANCE
Turn the handles (13) manually to move the spindle sleeve. Ensure the
spindle move is smooth and not too fast. Moving the spindle sleeve
back to its default position is forced by spindle return spring (7).
Long lasting drilling at low rotational speed of the spindle may
cause motor overheating. Make periodic breaks in operation. Do
not cover ventilation holes in the motor case.
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before commencing
any activities related to installation, adjustment, repair or
maintenance.
TENSION ADJUSTMENT OF SPINDLE RETURN SPRING
MOTOR
When increase or reduction of tension of the spindle return spring (7)
is needed:
• Hold the handle (13).
• Loosen and unscrew nuts (f) that secure the spindle return spring
(7) (fig. G).
• Gently slide the cover of spindle return spring from the catch (g)
and turn:
– clockwise – to increase spring tension,
– counter-clockwise – to reduce spring tension.
• Slide the cover of spindle return spring back in its place (ensure the
protrusion is placed in the catch (g) of the spring cover),
• Tighten the securing nuts (f).
