5 ACTIVE E-BIKE.

5.1 Use for the intended purpose.

The drive unit is intended solely for powering your BMW
Active E-Bike and may not be used for any other purposes.

5.2 Cycling instructions and tips.

When does the e-bike drive operate?
The drive unit (a) permits the cyclist to use the bike exactly as a
conventional bike. The drive unit will deliver the required assistance,
that will depend on the force applied to the pedals by the cyclist.
This assistance will be therefore only provided when the cyclist is
pedalling. This applies regardless of the assist level selected.
The assistance provided by the drive unit will be available at speeds
an assistance.
The e-Bike Systems do not operate in the following situations:
- When the display unit's power is off.
- When you are not pedalling.
- When there is no residual battery capacity.
- When the automatic power off function is activated (see
Display Manual)
- When the assist mode is set to Off mode.
