Adjustments for the Decoder
Several settings should be done / checked on the decoder-
tester so that the decoder-tester can react correctly to the
signals from the decoder.
• Impedance: Use the connection resistor for the speaker
(8 Ω / 100 Ω) here as required by the decoder. To do this
pay attention to the documentation for the decoder. If the
necessary setting is not known, then you should set the
resistance at 100 Ω as a precaution.
• Motor Changeover: Here you should set whether a motor
is to be connected to the motor output, or whether the
decoder is to be used as a pure function decoder.
• AUX3 / AUX4: Indicate here whether these outputs are
to be switched as pure logic outputs, or whether these
outputs on the decoder are amplified. In ambiguous situa-
tions, we recommend using „logic level" here.
Note:
The switch „Data Source" decides, whether the connected
decoder is to be switched and/or programmed by means of
USB from the computer, or by a connected control device.
Note:
The reverser for the function of the motor output is only
relevant for a decoder with an mtc21 interface.
Application
When the decoder is connected to the decoder-tester, all
of the reactions from the decoder to the control commands
received from the central controller will be shown to you
by the decoder-tester. The decoder will react exactly as if it
were installed in a locomotive.
