the 24 city names represent the 24 different world time zones.
London UtC correlates with the zero meridian from which
the time zones are determined, to East plus + and West minus -.
To find out the home time while travelling set the hour hand
to the current city name on the bezel and add / deduct the hour
difference to your home time zone.

local time in comparison to home time is ahead of time (outer
circle) or behind (inner circle).
