Towbar-mounted ski/snowboard rack
Please read the instructions carefully before use.
You have acquired a Mottez ski rack, a product designed and made in France.
Thank for choosing this product, which we hope will give you complete satisfaction.
Incorrect use can lead to dangerous consequences for you and other road users.
This list is not exhaustive and does not mean that you should ignore basic safety rules and common sense.
- The empty weight of this platform carrier is 17,5 kg / - Maximum load of the ski rack: 30 kg.
- Always check the weight limitation of your towing system (50 kg minimum) and never overload it.
- The ski rack must not be used to transport items other than skis or snowboards.
- The best loading of the skis is achieved by positioning them as close to the vehicle as possible. The centre of gravity must be as low as possible, yet without risking
touching the ground, especially when negotiating obstacles such as hump back bridges or speed bumps, for example.
- The user is responsible for periodically verifying that all hardware, straps, etc. are securely tightened for safety purposes.
- Keep your product in a good condition.
- As a safety measure for other road users (pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, etc.) it is advisable to remove the ski rack after use

Pay attention to the height in relation to the ground.
1 Setting up the towbar-mounted ski/snowboard rack
Make sure the handle is in open position. On the other case, please read chapter 3 Unlocking the handle and security.
It is also recommended to let the arms folded; this will help for the next steps.
Put the ski/snowboard rack as indicated hereunder.
2 Tighten the ski/snowboard rack on the towbar
Hold the ski/snowboard rack vertical, and then pull the handle. You must feel resistance to ensure optimum tightening. To do this, it is necessary to adjust the
ski/snowboard rack using the screw. The effort must be equivalent to 8 N.m.
Important: make adjustment with handle loose
Tighten the adjustment screw manually. If it is too hard, you can use an Allen key nr. 6.
3 Unlocking the handle and security
When the handle is in the closed position, a safety latch locks it in position.
Simply lift the latch by pulling the tab (drawing a) to loosen the handle.
You may lock the latch (drawing b) for added security and to protect the cycle carrier against theft.
4 Unfold the upperarms

6 Unfold the lights and fit the number plate
7 Open the upper arms
Unscrew and open the metal sheet securing the arms. Unscrew M and B to open the arms.
8 Ski and Snowboard positioning
9 Tightening and ski/snowboard strapping
Screw M and B to hold ski and snowboards. Pass the strap I through the loop H and tighten firmly for placing ski and snowboards forward the product. Place the
strap P and cross it around the ski. Tighten firmly to place ski and snowboards downwards.
10 Security & Antitheft
Unfold the metal sheet to secure the installation. Place the screw (A) to protect the ski against theft.
11 Number plate and Lights
It is important to ensure that your lights and indicators can be seen clearly. Your vehicle's number plate and lights must be visible. You have to fix your number
plate on this segment

12 Folding the ski/snowboard rack carrier for access to the boot
To unfold the ski/snowboard rack, loose and remove the screw.
You can disengage the handle, so that it does not obstruct the opening of the boot.
IMPORTANT: remember to return the handle to its normal position after closing the boot.
To re-position the product, just tip the entire assembly back to its original position, and put back the screw and tighten.
