Normal use
Important! Risk of irreparable damage to operator.
Do not use the operator to open or close doors unless the
counterbalance is set (springs tensioned). Otherwise you will
damage or destroy the motor (gear).
Danger! Risk of death!
Remove all ropes or straps you need to operate the door by
hand.
• The operator is exclusively designed to open and close doors. Any
other use does not constitute normal use. The manufacturer accepts no
liability for damage resulting from use other than normal use. The user
accepts sole responsibility for any risk involved. It also voids the
warranty.
• Doors automated with an operator must comply with the valid standards
and directives: EN 12604, EN 12605.
• The operator may only be used if it is in perfect working order and is
used as intended, in awareness of safety and hazards, in accordance
with the assembly and user instructions.
• Faults which could affect safety must be fixed immediately.
• The door must be sturdy and rigid, meaning it must not sag or bow
when opened or closed.
• The operator cannot compensate for defects in the door or incorrect
assembly or installation.
• Only use the operator in a dry, non-hazardous area.
• Do not install the operator in spaces with a corrosive atmosphere
(e.g. salty air).
• The garage door operator is only intended for supervised, private use.

Safety instructions

General safety instructions
IMPORTANT! Failure to read and follow all instructions may re-
sult in serious injury.
• These installation and operating instructions must be read, understood
and followed by persons who install, use or perform maintenance on the
operator.
• The manufacturer assumes no liability for injuries, damage or break-
downs that arise through failure to follow the installation and operating
instructions.
• Make sure that these installation and operating instructions are kept
within easy reach in the garage. The person responsible for installing
the operator must put up a declaration of conformity for the door system
in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EG and affix the
CE mark and a type plate.
Garage door operator
• Never allow children to operate or play with operators. Keep remote
controls out of the reach of children.
• Observe and comply with local accident prevention regulations and
valid EC standards.
• Only install the operator on doors that have been correctly aligned and
counterweighted. For example, see EN 12604, EN 12605. A door that
has not been aligned correctly could cause serious injury or damage the
operator.
• If possible, install the operator at least 2.10 m above floor level.
• The operator must be checked once a month. The garage door must re-
tract if it comes in contact with an 50 mm high object on the ground.
After the force or the end positions have been adjusted (slide switch),
the operator must be checked again. The force setting is relevant to
safety and must be carried out with the utmost caution.
• If possible, only use the emergency release when the garage door is
closed. Take care when using the emergency release when the door is
open. Weak or broken springs may cause the door to fall, which in turn
may lead to serious injury.
• Always pull out the mains plug before working on the operator.
• All lines are to be firmly secured, for example, against moving
• Never put your hand near the door when it is moving or near moving
parts.
• Keep children and disabled persons away from the door.
• Only pass through the door once it is fully open.
• Be careful not to get limbs trapped or cut at the closing edges and the
door mechanism.
Radio remote control
• Radio remote control is only permissible for equipment and systems
where radio remote control of transmitters or receivers poses no risk to
persons or property or where the risk is eliminated by other safety
devices.
• Do not use transmitters near locations or installations that are
susceptible to radio interference (airports, hospitals).
• Radio remote control may only be operated after a non-hazardous force
value has been set. This force must be set low enough to ensure that
the closing force poses no risk of injury (see Section entitled "Force
adjustment").
Information on the radio regulations
• The operator of the radio system does not have any protection from in-
terference from other telecommunication systems and terminal equip-
ment (e.g. including other radio systems duly operated in the same
frequency band). If substantial interference occurs, please contact your
appropriate Telecommunications Office which has radio interference
measuring equipment (radiolocation)!
• In principle, no radio system may be connected to another
telecommunication system without permission of the authorising
agency.
Before assembly
Walls and ceilings must be solid and stable. Only install the op-
erator on a correctly aligned door. An incorrectly aligned door
could cause serious injury.
• Doors must be stable in themselves, since high traction and compres-
sion forces are encountered. Reinforce lightweight doors made of plas-
tic or aluminium gates, if necessary, before assembly. Ask specialist
retailers for advice.
• If the operator is installed with a rail extension on a heavy gate, always
use a second ceiling mount.
• Check the distance between the highest running point of the door (THP)
and the ceiling. It must be between 35 mm and 65 mm; the angle of the
arm must be max. 30°. If the distance is less than 35 mm, the operator
must be moved back and a longer connecting arm must be
installed – ask a specialist retailer for advice.
• Remove or disable door locks.
• Check that the door runs smoothly.
• The door must be counterbalanced.
Test:
Half-open the door by hand. It must stay in this position. If the door
moves up or down, re-adjust the door mechanically. Ask a specialist
retailer for advice.
Installation tips
• If you check the components supplied before you begin assembly, you
will save time and energy if a part is missing.
• If the operator cannot be installed in the centre of the door, it may be
shifted. Make sure that the door does not bow and get stuck in the
tracks.
Check:
Open and close the door by hand several times at the location where
the operator is to be installed. If the door can be operated easily in a
location (while not exceeding the prescribed forces), the operator can
be installed.
