1. Remove screws from lower fascia – Using a T25 torxbit, remove (4) screws from black plastic panel at lower fascia.
2. Remove bolts from lower fascia – Using 10 mm socket, remove (2) bolts from outer side of black plastic panel at lower fascia.
3. Remove screws from wheel well liners – Using a phillips screwdriver, remove (3) screws from wheel well liners on both sides.
4. Remove screws behind wheel well liners – Using a phillips screwdriver, remove (2) screws from fascia and mud flap on both sides.
5. Remove mud flap– Using a T15 torxbit, remove (2) screws from mud flap behind wheel well liners on both sides. Remove mud flap and keep it for reinstallation.
6. Remove plastic panel by taillight – Using plastic trim removal tool, remove (1) plastic panel near the taillight on both sides.
7. Remove bolt by taillight– Using 8 mm socket, remove (1) bolt from fascia near the taillight, both sides.
8. Remove plastic plug above reflector– Using plastic trim removal tool, remove (1) plastic plug from the fascia above the reflector, both sides.
9. Remove fascia – Using plastic trim removal tool, remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling off the fascia. While removing the
fascia, carefully remove the connection of electrical plug on passenger side of the vehicle.
10. Remove metal panel – Using 10 mm socket, remove (1) bolt and (1) nut from metal panel above bumper beam, both sides.
11. Remove bumper beam – Using 21 mm socket, remove (4) factory bolts from bumper beam on both sides and keep for reinstallation. Remove the bumper beam and
return to owner.
12. Apply sealant - Apply silicone sealant to both hitch side bracket mounting surfaces, see Figure 2.
13. Install Hitch - Raise the hitch into position and align holes with the end panel. Loosely install (8) existing M14 factory bolts to the hitch, see Figure 1.
14. Tighten all M14 CL10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 148 ft-lb (200 N*m).
15. Trim lower fascia – Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, locate the car center, measure, mark, and trim the lower fascia as shown in Figure 3.
16. Reinstall metal panels, wiring harness, fascia, mud flaps, wheel well liners, plastic panel and plug, and all fasteners.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
