1.
Lower spare tire- open the rear hatch to gain access to the spare tire winch. Using a M20 socket, lower the spare tire and set aside for later.
2.
Remove exterior trim panel – This is located on the driver side of the car. Remove 3 push rivets by using a flat head screwdriver. Pull carefully on the trim panel to remove and set aside for later.

Trim fascia - Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, measure, mark, and trim the lower fascia as shown in Figure 2.

Lower vehicle exhaust - remove the rear and side hangers. Support the exhaust to prevent damage. Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator helps removal.

Install hitch A - Raise hitch into position and insert fasteners. Starting on the driver side, insert items 1 & 2 and tighten using ¾ socket. On the passenger side, insert items 4 & 5 and tighten using 19mm
socket. Insert items through both the hitch bracket(s) and vehicle frame as shown in Figure 1 for support.
6.
Install hitch B – Bottom side, using a 16mm socket insert items 7 & 8 through hitch bracket and into the vehicle frame welds nuts as shown in Figure 1 (Hand tighten). NOTE: It may be necessary to
clean debris/corrosion from existing weldnuts in frame using a wire brush. Install remaining items 2,3 &6 onto matching bolts.
7.
Torque fasteners - Tighten M10 CL10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 40 Lb.-Ft. (54 N*M), both 1/2 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M) and M12 GR 8.8 fasteners with
torque wrench to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 N*M).
8.
Raise exhaust/spare tire/ trim panel – reinstall exhaust and trim panel. Raise the spare tire back into position. Note: when spare tire is being raised back into position push it forward to provide
additional clearance from hitch.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust
fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or
attachment holes with a torch.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
