4.4.1
KICK STARTER
This vehicle features a kick starter (P‑Fig.17) for
emergency kick starting (using the kick starter pedal).
Kick starting is particularly "handy" when the battery is
flat, when the starter motor is faulty, etc.
When using the kick starter, make sure the battery is
connected to the main wiring even if it is flat.
If you notice faults in the electrical starting system,
have the vehicle checked and serviced by an
Authorised MALAGUTI Service Centre as soon as
possible.
To start the engine with the kick starter:
‑
put the vehicle on its stand, turn the lever
(A‑Fig.17) of the kick starter outwards.
‑
Keep both hands on the handlebar. Using your
left hand, pull the rear brake lever to prevent the
vehicle moving. With your right hand, grasp the
throttle grip but do not turn it to avoid flooding
the engine.

•
Put your right foot on the lever (A‑Fig.17) (do not
kick) and apply light pressure to pressurise the piston
inside the cylinder. Now push firmly. If the engine
does not start the first time, repeat the operation
without turning the throttle grip, until the engine
starts normally.
Note: if you have not used your vehicle for a
few days, the engine may not start at the first
attempt. In this case, turn the throttle grip a little
and repeat the starting procedure.
