E N G L I S H
Prepare an electrical line dimensioned as indicated on
the table shown in the drawing.
Insert the cable in the holder "POS. 81" and block it.
Connect with the clamps to the electrical current.
The electrical supply line must be fitted with an
automatic differential heat safety cut-out switch 30 mA
with a mechanical plug and socket block.
The machine as per the rules in force must be
connected to a good earth, or the guarantee will not be
honoured. Before first testing the machine, check that
none of the electrical connectors have worked loose
during transport.
After connection to the electricity supply, check the
rotation direction of the pump. If the direction is wrong,
invert the connection of two of the three phases supply
wires.
Replace all the panels and protection devices when the
electrical connections have been completed.
STEAM AND CONDENSATES RETURN
CONNECTION TO THE SERVICE AND
SAFETY DEVICES
(SEE DRAWING PAGE. 10-6,10-7,10-10)
The expected connections for the steam collecting from
the boiler in pressure have to be made as per drawing
at page 10-6 and 10-7 or 10-10, to foresee namely a
gate valve and a 1/2" gas non- return valve.
The discharge of the safety valve has to be made
through a 1"gas pipe discharging directly into the drain
or in case the drainage of steam not being allowed, use
a tank to collect the possible steam leak.
BOILER WASHING
(SEE DRAWING PAGE 10-11)
When a new machine is installed, or when restarting
after it has been stopped for more than one week, the
boiler must be thoroughly washed.
The procedure is as follows:
a)
Turn on the boiler and bring it to a pressure of
approximately 2 bars (30 psi).
b)
Turn the boiler off and drain the water into the main
drains or drainage tank half opening the tap "POS.
4", taking care not to burn yourself.
c)
When all the water has been drained, turn off the
drainage valve "POS. 4". The water will probably be
a dark colour.
d)
Turn the boiler on again and bring it to a pressure
of 2 bars (30 psi).
e)
Repeat the cycle of points b) - c) - d) four times.
The water should progressively become cleaner. If
it is still dirty, repeat the washing cycle another 3 or
4 times, until it is completely clean.
If the boiler is not washed as described above there
is the risk of dirty water being siphoned back, or a
rust colour visible during steaming.
PROCEDURES FOR USING THE
STEAM GENERATOR
Before use read carefully the "Safety warnings".
PRELIMINARY CONTROLS
(SEE DRAWING PAGE 10-11)
For all the machines
a)
Check that the drainage ball valve "POS. 4" is well
C H A P T E R 4
closed
b)
Check that the water feed ball "POS. 66" (see page
10-10) is open.
c)
If the machine has been stopped for a long time
check that the pump is not jammed due to internal
deposit. Check that the shaft turns manually using
the carving for screwdriver on the shaft end,
ventilation
For machines with tank:
a)
Check that the drainage ball valve "POS. 6" is well
closed.
b)
Check that the water feed ball to the tank "POS. 5"
is open.
c)
Let out through the tap "POS. 90" the possible air
bubble inside the pump; without this operation the
pump cannot load water.
N.B.: Do not run the pump with the water valve closed
as this will ruin irreparably the pump.
At first, when the machine is cold, the steam will
condense rapidly and it is therefore advisable to wait a
few
minutes
condensation can be drained off.
If this is not done, condensation formed will emerge
from the steam pipes, damaging the garments being
processed.
(SEE DRAWING PAGE 10-11)
Proceed as follows:
For all the machines
a)
Turn on the main electrical supply switch
b)
Turn on the main switch of the machine "POS. 69",
at the same time the orange light of the feeding
water "POS. 51" will light up and, when the
necessary level will be reached, the red light of
automatic connection of the heating elements will
light up.
c)
Check on the manometer "POS. 71" that the steam
pressure reaches to 5 bar (72 psi) or 6 bar (87 psi).
d)
Open the ball valve for collecting steam "POS. 1".
e)
By lighting up the switch "POS. 52" the first heating
elements group will put on, while by lighting up the
switch "POS. 53" will be on the second heating
elements group contemporarily to the relative red
lights
independently).
OPERATION OF THE ELECTRONIC LEVEL
CONTROL FOR CONDENSATE
RECOVERY TANK
Turning on the machine, if the tank is empty, the
electronic timer, after 3 seconds from switch on, will call
for water till to cover the probe; when the correct water
level is obtained, the boiler functioning will be switched
on.
As the water level decreases and the level sensor probe
becomes uncovered, the water pump and inlet valve are
again switched on without switching off the boiler
functioning.
If after 5 minutes (15 minutes only for 1
the water has not reached the level to work, the timer
will block the water loading device safeguarding it (see
chapter "Breakdowns on the condensate recovery tank
and on the electronic level control").
