efrosting
Your refrigerator's defrosting system is automatic. The back of the appliance gets
covered with frost when the compressor is running and defrosts when the compressor
is off. When the frost melts, the water evaporates on its own.
The freezer compartment must always be defrosted when the frost layer has
reached a thickness of about 4 mm. In all cases, this compartment must be
defrosted at least once a year.
To defrost, use a squeegee or any plastic utensil, but never use metal instruments,
de-icing products or electric appliances such as hair dryers, steam cleaners, etc.
Unplug the appliance before defrosting.
To defrost the appliance:
Choose a time when your appliance is not full.
Pack frozen foods in a freezer bag and keep them in a cool place.
Leave the door open and sponge as the ice melts.
To speed up the defrosting process, you can place a container with hot water in
the compartment and close the door.
When defrosting is complete, clean your appliance.
