Improper uses

Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
Do not cut materials other than wood.
Never use the tool as a lever or for lifting, moving or breaking any objects.
Never use the tool if the atmosphere is explosive or flammable.
Do not cut trunks wider than the maximum length of the bar.
5.3

Transporting the tool

Transport the tool with the bar (1) facing backwards and the bar cover (20) en-
gaged.
Hold the tool on the pole in a balanced fashion.
For transportation on vehicles: prevent overturning and damage by securing the tool
stably.
These behaviours prevent accidental damage to objects and/or persons and/or
damage to the product during transport.
5.4

Storing

When the tool remains inactive for long periods of time, follow the maintenance and cleaning instructions shown in the
manual:
Check that the air fittings are free from dirt.
Follow all the maintenance indications in the manual.
Remove the cutting residues (sawdust) from the front cover and perfectly clean the chainsaw.
Put the bar cover on the chain bar.

6 MAINTENANCE

6.1

Routine maintenance

An accurate and regular maintenance of the tool guarantees perfect efficiency and a long service life.
The routine maintenance operations may be carried out by the operators.
CAUTION!
Before performing any maintenance operation:
 disconnect the tool from the compressed air supply pipe.
 Put on heavy-duty protective gloves.
All the maintenance/replacement operations which are not described in this manual have to be performed
by an Authorised Service Point.

6.1.1 Chain tension adjustment check

Periodically check the tension of the chain and adjust it if necessary, following the procedure shown in paragraph
4.1.2. The chain (2) has a tendency to expand or shrink when using the tool, changing its tension.
Do not tension the chain when it is elongated due to heat. Wait for it to cool down before adjusting it again.

CAUSES
The air regulator in the com-
pressor is closed
The air supply pipe is clogged
Insufficient lubrication
Air supply pipe dirty
Insufficient pressure in the
compressor
The motor is not lubricated.
The valve gaskets are worn
or damaged
SOLUTIONS
Adjust the regulator at the correct pressure (10 bar)
Disconnect the air supply pipe and check if there are
any interruptions or dirt in the couplings
Top up the oil in the air compressor lubricator container.
Disconnect the supply pipe and blow compressed air to
remove dirt
Check that the compressor pressure reaches 10 bar
Check the oil level in the compressor lubricator
Disassemble the valve handle and replace the gaskets
even if only slightly worn
