Components in lifting columns
The following components are bolted to the end plate
of a lifting column:
R
Suspension cable (3) secured by a retaining nut from
the top and a lock nut from underneath.
R
Locking rail (6) secured by a retaining nut from the
top and a lock nut from underneath.

The suspension cable (3) holds the cross members and
thus also the runways. The locking rail (6) is fitted with
snap latches at 100 mm intervals. The ends of the cross
members are provided with detent pins which can be
extended pneumatically. If the lifting platform

is lowered in locked condition, the detent pins come to
rest in the snap latches. During lifting operations, the
detent pins retract automatically and the platform is
free to move again.
At the lower end of the lifting column the suspension
cable runs over a safety catch (7). The safety catch
consists of a contact roller and an eccentric lever
with tension springs. If the suspension cable tears,
the eccentric is pressed against the locking rail by the
springs. The lifting platform is blocked and can no
longer be moved.
