– Remove the grommet from the tank and extract the fi lter (Ref. to Fig. 12b).
– Clean the fi lter with a non-fl ammable solvent or one with a high infl ammability level.
– Carefully dry the fi lter before reassembling.
– Reassemble all parts.
– Replace the fi lter once a year.
Warning: improper use of solvents could cause fi re or explosion.

6.2) EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE

6.2.1) Checking the impact unit
The impact striker and anvil are subject to wear. Should a noticable loss of torque be detected over
intense and/or prolonged operation, check these components for wear.
6.2.2) Changing grease in the impact unit (at least once a year)
Under normal operating conditions, replace the grease in the unit at least once a year, to maintain
effi ciency and performance.
Maintenance operations described in § 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 require qualifi ed personnel.
6.2.3) Changing oil in the gearbox/reduction gear (every 4 years)
To top up or change the oil in the gearbox/reduction gear:
– Turn the wrench over.
– Using a 5 mm Allen wrench unscrew the cap with magnetic insert (T) (Ref. to Fig. 15).
– To change the oil, lean the wrench over to facilitate complete emptying of the oil.
– Carefully remove any metal residue from the magnetic insert (T).
– Add oil, MAX. 190 ml.
– Replace the cap (T) and screw it on tightly.
Ensure that used oil is disposed of in accordance with current legislation.
Always use clean recommended oil, see § 1.
Do not use old or recycled oil.
6.3) PREPARATION FOR LONG INACTIVITY
– Completely empty the fuel tank.
– Start the engine and run it over until it stops, to ensure the carburettor is also empty.
– Remove the spark plug (see § 6.1.2).
– Pour 3-5 cc of engine oil into the cylinder.
– Pull the starting cord slowly several times to guarantee a good spread of the motor oil poured
into the cylinder and then reassemble the spark plug.
– Using a clean cloth, wet it with oil and rub all the metal parts of the machine.
– Store the machine in a dry place in its metal case (see § 8), protecting it from knocks and con-
tamination.
