2. General description

9
The IO 111 forms interface between a Grundfos
9
wastewater pump with analog and digital sensors
and the pump controller. The most important sensor
9
status is indicated on the front panel.
10
One pump can be connected to an IO 111 module.
10
Together with the sensors, the IO 111 forms a
10
galvanic separation between the motor voltage in the
11
pump and the controller connected.
12
By means of the IO 111 it is possible to:
13
•
protect the pump against overtemperature
14
•
monitor sensors for analog measurement of:
14
- motor temperature
15
- water content [%] in oil
15
- stator insulation resistance
15
- bearing temperature
16
- digital measurement of moisture in motor
17
•
stop the pump in case of alarm
17
•
remote monitor the pump via RS485
17
communication (Modbus or GENIbus)
17
•
operate the pump via frequency converter.
If the cable is more than 10 metres long, it is
18
advisable to equip the frequency converter with
19
an output filter to prevent incorrect analog
measurements.

Warning
The IO 111 must not be used for other
purposes as the ones specified.
