5) Regulating the spot welding time tP. - Pressing in sequence the SET button (ref.10 page
9) you can select the spot welding time tP function led (ref.17 page 9). The right-hand
display (ref.7 page 9) will start to blink, indicating the letters tP; with the V/SET encoder
(ref.8 page 9) you can regulate the value from 00.1 to 10 seconds.
To view the set value at any time, briefly press the SET button.
6) Regulating the ARC TRIM Electronic Inductance. – Press in sequence the SET button
(ref.10 page 9) and proceed as described for MIG 2 TIME welding
7) Regulating the BURN BACK time - proceed as described for MIG 2 TIME welding
8) Regulating the post-gas time - proceed as described for MIG 2 TIME welding
9) Gas PURGE function - proceed as described for MIG 2 TIME welding
10) INCH wire advance function - proceed as described for MIG 2 TIME welding
MIG SPOT WELDING procedure: manual regulation
Starting welding:
1) Hold down the gas PURGE button (ref.11 page 9) for a few seconds to purge the gas.
2) Press the INCH button (ref.13 or 40 page 9 ,10) for manual advance of the wire, so as to
make the wire run through the torch until it is just protruding from the nozzle.
3) Set the welding parameters
4) Perform welding: press and hold down the torch button (the green Led (ref.2 page 9)
lights up); for a short time (0.5 seconds) the gas will come out (pre-gas), then the wire will
start to come out and the arc will be lit.
5) It is possible to vary the characteristic of the arc using the ARC TRIM function. It is
recommended to start welding with the value set at 0 . If any splashes occur during welding,
increase the ARC TRIM value; instead, if the wire tends to stick and burns with difficulty,
decrease the ARC TRIM value.
6) During welding the left-hand display (ref.5 page 9) shows the value of the set wire speed
(expressed in m/min) or of the real current (expressed in Ampere), depending on whether
the reading of the current with the button A (ref.25 page 9) is enabled; on the right-hand
display (ref.7 page 9) you can see the real voltage value (expressed in Volt).
End of welding:
7) Welding will last for the set spot welding time tP; gas will then start to come out for the
time set with the post-gas function.
8) At the end of welding, both displays will keep for a few seconds the real current and
voltage values obtained during welding.
