Any machine arriving without a non-contamination statement, or statement indicating the nature of the
contamination, will be sent back as is to the user. A full statement must accompany the machine.
This contamination statement is mandatory to comply with legislation regarding health and safety.
If you open a machine in your workshops, you are become accountable for any contamination which may be
occasioned.

General informations
•
This equipment is not suitable for use in areas where there is a risk of ignition or explosion.
•
When shipping the equipment, account should be taken of local highway regulations if you have to use the
public highway.
•
Your safety and that of the people around you rely on the proper usage of the equipment. Ensure that you
are completely familiar with the position and functions of all its controls.
•
Any person using the machine or carrying out maintenance operations on it must be fully acquainted with
it. Under no circumstances should any operation or other action be carried out unless the individual has
the prerequisite skills.
•
If you have to carry out unusual operations or work, contact your nearest dealer.
•
He will put you in contact with specialists for this type of equipment.
•
It is essential that all concerned know the location of the nearest fire extinguisher, emergency exits and
first aid box to the machinery.
•
Any person using the machinery or carrying out maintenance operations on it must be physically and
mentally fit for the purpose. Said person must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication
which could impair his reactions.
•
Take the trouble to read and understand all the pictograms which indicate danger or precautions to take on
the equipment.
•
Avoid accidents which could be engendered by wearing clothing that is too loose or offering inadequate
protection. Wear clothing that runs no risk of getting caught on parts. If necessary, wear additional
protective gear (helmet, safety shoes, goggles, protective mask, gloves, reflective clothing, etc.)
•
Because of the high decibel output of the machinery, the wearing of individual ear protection material is
mandatory.
•
As the machine may reach running temperatures in the region of 90°C (194°F), take all possible precautions
against the risk of burns.
•
The load bearing capacity of the floor on which the machinery is installed must be sufficient to bear its
weight.
•
If the floor is vulnerable to vibrations, shock absorbers and flexible pipes will have to be fitted to the
machine.
1.3.
General information on isolation and energy dissipation
Before any repair or servicing work is carried out, the machine must be fully or partially isolated and services to
it cut.
Isolation and energy dissipation consists of:
➢ filling in the isolation log (summary of operations carried out) and informing the person responsible for
isolation and energy dissipation (or the immediate superior) before taking the equipment out of service,
➢ putting the equipment into a specific state (cutting off the power, pneumatic, hydraulic and other energy
supplies),
➢ keeping the equipment in this state (by padlocking, chaining, etc.),
511927-07
SAFETY REGULATIONS
➢ using panels to disclose the out-of service status of the equipment which record the following information:
the date of isolation and energy dissipation,
the equipment taken out of service,
the reasons for removal from service.
The isolation and energy dissipation of machinery should only be reversed with the agreement of the person
responsible for taking it out of service (or the immediate superior) and should be recorded in the isolating log.
1.4.
Access and cleanliness
•
Access to the machine must be unobstructed. Under no circumstances should an operator perform
movements likely to cause personal injury to himself or damage property.
•
The floor should be free of any trace or puddle of liquid of any description. Failure to observe this rule may
lead to serious personal injuries.
•
Oily rags and other inflammable items should be stored in a safe place.
•
All environmentally responsible measures should be taken. In particular, all waste fluids should be
recovered and recycled. Never dispose of these fluids directly into the environment.
•
Call on the services of an accredited firm in the country where the equipment is used to recycle all oils,
greases, and used filters.
•
Fluids should never be poured into random containers, containers which are incorrectly labelled or open
containers.
•
Take care with all fluids used for servicing (oil, greases, etc.). They should not be drunk, inhaled or stored or
conveyed in foodstuff containers (water bottles, beer bottles, etc.). Always use the original packing.
1.5.
Safety checks (before starting up)
•
For your safety and for the optimum service life of your machine, periodically inspect the machine from top
to bottom before starting up.
•
In particular, keep a watch out for loose bolts, missing bolts, build-up of dirt, spillage of liquids, etc.
1.6.
Running
•
If the machine is not running properly, or has parts missing or is out of-adjustment, stop the machine and
repair it.
Failure to observe this rule may lead to personal injuries.
•
If a machine has not been fully repaired, it should not be re-started without the agreement of the
immediate superior, who in giving his approval takes on all responsibility for incidents or accidents
resulting.
1.7.
Servicing-maintenance
•
Always bear in mind that if servicing is not carried out carefully, observing all current recommendations,
serious damage may occur which will be outside the terms of our guarantee.
•
When servicing requires the work of several operators, there must be clear instructions for the tasks to be
carried out. This is so that the manoeuvres and work between the members of the team are perfectly co-
ordinated. Safety of all team members should be the prime concern of each individual team member.
•
Never start repair work if you are unable to carry it out or complete it.
•
During maintenance and servicing operations no unauthorised people should ever be permitted to work on
the machinery.
•
Always use the right tools for the tasks.
