15- FAULT FINDING and likely CAUSES
IF YOU OBSERVE ANY ABNORMAL NOISE OR HIGHER TEMPERATURES ,
STOP THE MACHINE IMMEDIATELY, AND CHECK THE CAUSES OF THE
PROBLEM AND REPAIR IT. DO NOT START UP UNTIL THE BLOWER HAS
BEEN REPAIRED

POTENTIAL CAUSES
• The bolts at the base are loose
• Incorrect alignment of blower and
motor
• Loose bolts in the coupling
• Loose drive belts
• Contact of the belts against the drive
guard
• Silencers are damaged
• Relief valve operation at incorrect
pressure
• Start-up electric motor (bearings,
imbalance)
• Contact of the piston against the body
or against each other
• Contact of the pistons with the sides
• Excessive clearance in the gear wheels • New gears required, probable full
• Bearing wear
• Excessive clearance in the bearings
• Imbalance in the rotating pistons
• Excessive operating pressure
• Dirty inlet filter
• Excessive oil level
• Excessive inlet temperature
• Excessive internal clearance
SOLUTIONS
• Tighten them
• Align the electric motor
• Tighten them
• Tighten the bolts at the base
• Readjust the protection or pulleys
• Inspect and repair them or change them
• Replace or Adjust the relief valve
• Check the electric motor and repair it
• Excessive dirt, clean the interior of the
chamber
• Excessive load, check operating
pressures
overhaul.
• Change bearings at an approved
aftersales provider
•Check for lift. Call aftersales provider
• Build up of product on pistons. Carefully
clean or send for repair
• Check actual pressure against original
supply specification
• Clean or change the filter cartridge
• Check the oil level drain to correct level
if required
• Check the ventilation fan in the
enclosure is working. Check for localised
heat source closure to air intake of the
acoustic enclosure
• Check the piston tolerances and consult
our technical service. Repair /
