Periodically clean the ventilation

slots and openings (1) on the
bottom with a dry brush or the like
Turn over the machine and shake it

out – remove chips from the battery
compartment
Clean the dust and dirt off the
N
machine – do not use any grease
solvents for this purpose
Clean plastic parts with a cloth.

Harsh detergents can damage the
plastic
Keep the guide grooves of the
N
battery free of dirt – clean if
necessary

Storing the Machine
Set hand guard to ƒ

Remove the battery

Remove saw chain and guide bar;
N
clean and spray with protective oil
When using biological chain oil
N
(e. g., STIHL BioPlus), fill the
lubricant oil tank
Store the machine in a dry and safe

place, out of the reach of children
and other unauthorized users
Battery compartment cover
In some countries, the machine is

equipped with a cover for the battery
compartment. This keeps dirt out of the
battery compartment.
After work, insert the cover (1) in the
N
compartment until the cover audibly
snaps into place
Battery storage
Remove the battery from the
N
machine or charger
Store the battery in a closed, dry
N
space and keep in a secure
location. Protect against
unauthorized use (e. g., by children)
and against dirt
Do not store backup batteries
N
unused – use them in alternation
For optimum service life, store the
battery at a charge of approx. 30 %.
