– after every use,
– if there is a fault,
– when you are not using the appliance,
– before removing or attaching the cutter head,
– before you clean the appliance and
– during thunderstorms.
To avoid any hazard, do not make modifications to the appliance.
The connector cable cannot be replaced at home. Repairs must be
carried out by your authorised service centre.
Use only the original mains plug adapters.
Never attempt to remove dust or foreign bodies from inside the
appliance using a pointed object (e.g. with a tail comb).
DANGER! Risk of injury from cutting
Do not use the appliance with a damaged or fractured cutter head.
The cutter head must not be disassembled.
While the appliance is switched on, do not touch the cutter head.
The appliance must be switched off (rotary switch in position 0):
– before plugging the power unit into a power socket.
– when attaching or removing an attachment comb.
– when you put down the appliance, e.g. when you interrupt the
cutting process briefly.
Pull the power unit out of the power socket:
– when it is not supervised,
– before removing or attaching the cutter head,
– before you reset the cutting-length lever and
– before cleaning the appliance.
Ensure that the power unit cannot be plugged in again during the
activity.
Use only the original attachment combs.
Do not use a damaged attachment comb.

WARNING! Risk of material damage
The cutter head is a precision part. Protect it against damage.
In order to avoid increased wear of the cutter head and motor, the
cutter head must be cleaned and oiled regularly (see "Cleaning
and care" on page 23).
Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
Protect the appliance against heat (e.g. direct insolation), chemi-
cal substances (e.g. perm agents) and mechanical damage (e.g. by
dropping).
