Wireless weather station
• Close the battery compartment.
• The device will alert you with a beep, all LCD segments will be displayed and the backlight will turn on for a short moment.
The device is ready for use. The indoor temperature and humidity appear on the base station display.
• For a permanent backlight and to save battery life, use the supplied power adapter. Insert the power adapter pin into the
device jack and connect the plug to a wall socket. Important! Make sure that your household voltage is no more than
240V! Otherwise your device may be damaged.
5.1 Inserting the batteries in the outdoor transmitter/Reception of outdoor values
• Slide down the battery compartment lid of the transmitter.
• Insert two new batteries 1,5 V AA into the battery compartment of the outdoor transmitter. Make sure the polarities are
correct. The switch is set to channel 1. All LCD segments will be displayed for a short moment and the LED light flashes.
The display shows the current temperature and humidity.
• Press the °C/°F button in the battery compartment of the transmitter, to change between °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit) as
temperature unit.
• The base station automatically starts scanning the signals to register the outdoor transmitter at channel 1 after batteries
are inserted. The reception symbol for the transmitter flashes.
• As soon as the base station receives the outdoor values, the values are permanently shown.
• If the reception of the outdoor values fails within three minutes, "- -" appears on the display. Check the batteries and try it
again. Check if there is any source of interference.
• You can also start the outdoor transmitter search manually later on (for example when the outdoor transmitter is lost or the
batteries are changed).
• Hold the –/CH button on the base station for three seconds.
• "- -" appears on the outdoor values display and the reception symbol for the transmitter flashes. Press the TX button in the
transmitter's battery compartment.
• After a successful installation close the battery compartment of the outdoor transmitter carefully.
5.2 Reception of the DCF frequency signal
• A few minutes after start-up the clock will scan the DCF frequency signal and the DCF symbol flashes.

Wireless weather station
• When the time code is successfully received after 3-7 minutes, the radio-controlled time, the date, the day of the week and
the DCF symbol will be shown steadily on the display.
• The DCF reception always takes place at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 o'clock in the morning. If the signal is not successfully
received, another DCF reception will take place the next full hour (up to 5 times).
• You can also activate the DCF reception manually. Press and hold the + button for 3 seconds.
• The DCF reception symbol flashes.
• Interrupt the reception by pressing the + button again. The DCF reception symbol disappears.
• Important: The device cannot be operated during the DCF time-signal reception. To avoid interference, the backlight turns
off during the reception of the radio-controlled clock.
• There are 3 different reception symbols:
flashing symbol – reception is active
flashing – signal is found
solid – reception is successful
• If the clock cannot detect the DCF-signal (e.g. due to interference, transmitting distance, etc.), the time can be set manually.
• The clock will then work as a normal quartz clock (see: Manual settings).
5.3 Note on radio-controlled time
• The time is transmitted from an atomic clock near Frankfurt am Main by a DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) frequency signal with a range
of about 1,500 km. Your radio-controlled clock receives the signal, converts it and always shows the exact time. The
adjustment of Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time is also automatic. In Daylight Saving Time DST is shown on the
display.
• Avoid being close to possible sources of interference that may affect radio reception (see "Positioning of the base station
and mounting of the transmitter").
• During night-time, the atmospheric interference is usually less severe. A single daily reception is adequate to keep the
accuracy deviation under 1 second.
