8 Operation
8.1 Notes on safety
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces!
Operation of the product with insufficient supply pressure will cause the prod-
uct to heat up to more than 60 °C.
1. Make sure that sufficient pressure is applied to the product before setting
the set point. The supply pressure must always be higher than the intended
output pressure.
2. Do not touch the product during operation.
3. Allow the product to cool down before carrying out any work.
8.2 Basic requirements
General requirements
• Never switch off, modify or bypass safety devices.
In case of malfunctions during operation
• In case of a malfunction that presents an immediate danger for employees or
systems: Switch off product.
• Carry out analysis and troubleshooting of malfunctions. See
bleshooting.

8.4 Manual pressure adjustment (manual mode)
Notes
• Manual mode is only possible with a version with display.
Procedure
Adjusting the pressure manually:
1. Switch to manual mode: If the supply voltage is interrupted, switch on the
supply voltage again and simultaneously press both arrow keys below the dis-
play.
ð The display shows HND. HND disappears after releasing the arrow keys.
The display shows the output pressure. The addition HND appears in the
upper right corner.
2. Changing the output pressure:
- To reduce the output pressure: Press the down key.
- To increase the output pressure: Press the up key.
3. Leaving manual mode: Press both arrow keys at the same time
– or –
Temporarily disconnect the supply voltage.
8.5 Operating states
State
Description
Shut-off
If the set point is below 0.5 %, the proportional solenoid is de-energized
and the valve exhausts completely.
Overtempera-
If the internal control electronics reach a temperature above 100 °C, Au-
ture
tosafe is switched on.
Autosafe
If the solenoid current exceeds a preset value determined by the me-
chanics for longer than 20 seconds, the output current is reduced to
70 %. This avoids overheating of the valve.

9.1 Inspection
9.1.1 General requirements
Use in normal ambient conditions
• Inspection interval: The product must be checked monthly for contamination
and damage.
Use in aggressive ambient conditions
Aggressive ambient conditions include, for example:
• High temperatures
• Heavy accumulation of dirt
• Proximity to grease-dissolving liquids or vapors
Aggressive ambient conditions lead to further requirements for inspection:
• Adapt the inspection interval for seals to the ambient conditions.
NOTICE! Seals age faster under aggressive ambient conditions. Defective
seals will lead to pneumatic leaks and non-compliance with the degree of pro-
tection. Inspect seals more frequently (material protection).
9.1.2 Procedure
Preparation
1. Do not carry out any work on the system during preparation.
2. Close off dangerous areas.
3. Make sure the system or system part is not under pressure or voltage.
4. Protect the system against being restarted.
5. Allow the product and adjacent system parts to cool down.
6. Wear PPE.
Visual inspection
Visually inspect for integrity.
Detailed inspection
• Identifications and warnings on the product: The system owner has to replace
labels or warnings that are difficult to read immediately.
• Check the compressed air connections.
00125308
• Check the lines.
• Check the seals.
• Check the ground connection.
• Check to make sure that all fittings are properly connected.
• Check the safety devices on the system.
• Check the product functions.
9.2 Cleaning
9.2.1 General requirements
Cleaning intervals
• The system owner specifies the cleaning intervals in line with the ambient
conditions at the operating site.
• In explosive areas: Always comply with the mandatory cleaning intervals (ex-
plosion protection).
Aids
• Only clean the product with damp cloths. This avoids the formation of sparks
due to electrostatic charging (explosion protection).
• Only use water for cleaning and a mild detergent, if necessary (material pro-
tection).
NOTICE! Make sure that no water or water mist can enter the product via the
compressed air connections. Penetrating fluids destroy seals and cause dam-
age to the product.
