5.3. Switching off the fire pit
-
Want to switch off the fire pit? Turn the control knob all the way to 'OFF' so that the flames go out.
Once the flames are completely extinguished, close the gas valve on the gas cylinder.
-
Let the fire pit, lava stones and ceramic woodlogs cool down completely before placing the cover plate
over the burner.
5.4. Moving the device
It is recommended to move the fire pit as little as possible. With every move, you run the risk of damaging the
fire pit. If you do want to move the device, make sure the fire pit is disconnected from the gas cylinder and has
cooled down completely. The new location for the fire pit should again be level, hard and clean.
5.5. Replacing the gas hose and gas pressure regulator
The service life of a propane gas hose is 5 to 10 years. It is recommended to replace the gas hose and gas
pressure regulator once every 5 years. Check the device for gas leaks after replacing the gas pressure regulator
and gas hose and before each use. This is done as follows:
-
Open the gas cylinder, but do not turn on the device (control knob remains on OFF)!
-
Make a mixture of 50% detergent and 50% water and apply it to all connections and to the gas hose.
If there is a gas leak in the connections or hose, air bubbles will form.
-
If air bubbles become visible, meaning there is a gas leak, immediately close the gas valve of the gas
cylinder. Replace the hose or gas pressure regulator with a new one and perform the check again.
Ignite the device only when no more bubbles are detected.
-
Should the problem persist, contact a gas technical specialist.
Are you replacing the gas hose and/or gas pressure regulator? Then install them in exactly the same way as
they were fitted. The gas hose should be a maximum of 2.5 metres long. In point 6. 'Technical specifications',
you will find the technical specifications of the gas pressure regulator. If in doubt, always consult a gas
technical specialist.
5.6. Placing a cover
Note: Never place a protective cover over teak. Unfortunately, teak is not suitable to be covered. You can leave
the fire pit outside or store it in, for example, a garage or garden shed. For tips on teak maintenance and treatment,
see the 'FAQ' page on our website
5.7. What to do if something goes wrong?
Of course, we do everything we can to make a safe product. Therefore, follow the instructions and directions in
this user manual at all times:
Cosi fire pits extinguishing instructions
It is important to stop the gas supply as soon as possible when something goes wrong. Immediately turn the
control knob to 'OFF' to stop the gas supply and close the gas cylinder. The flames should immediately extinguish
in most cases.
Should there be a gas leak in the gas hose that causes the flames to persist, the flames can be extinguished with
a fire blanket or a powder extinguisher. With the fire blanket, you can extinguish the fire at an early stage. A
powder extinguisher is also suitable for extinguishing propane/butane gas fires. Never extinguish with any other
type of fire extinguisher.
