5 Functional description

The device is an electronic gas management system with a closed loop gas system. The shielding gas flow during the welding
process is optimized in terms of gas consumption and process stability. This compact device consists of a housing with display
and touch buttons, as well as a status LED. It also has a proportional valve and pressure sensors. The EWR 2 Net device
version has a measurement shunt interface, a CANopen interface, and an Ethernet interface. Figure 1 is an enlarged
illustration of the device to scale. The device adjusts the gas supply according to a characteristic curve adjusted in
accordance with the welding process.
