Dear customer,
Thank you for placing your trust in a Bauerfeind product. The ManuLoc you have purchased is a high
quality medical product.
Please read through all of these instructions for use carefully, because they contain important
information about the use, indications, contraindications, tting, care and disposal of the ManuLoc.
Please keep these instructions safe, as you may want to read them again later. If you have any
questions, please contact your physician or medical retailer.
Intended use
The ManuLoc is an anatomically contoured stabilizing orthosis for the lower arm and wrist. It
stabilizes and, if necessary, immobilizes the wrist, preventing undesired movements over the whole
wrist area. This is made possible by two lateral bars and a central stay.
With its stabilizing effect, the ManuLoc helps prevent undesired movements and relieve pain.
Indications
• Post-operative in ammation
• Post-traumatic
• Mild forms of carpal tunnel syndrome
Application risks
Caution*
ManuLoc must only be worn in accordance with the speci cations contained in these instructions and
used for the areas of application (places of use) listed. To guarantee the best possible t of the
ManuLoc, it is essential to check whether the product is adequately shaped and whether it needs to be
anatomically reshaped by a specialist. Only a specialist may carry out the (initial) tting of the
orthosis and provide instruction.
Use in combination with other products, e. g. as part of compression treatment (arm stockings), must
be discussed beforehand with your medical advisor.
If you notice any unusual changes (e.g. increased symptoms), please contact your medical advisor
immediately.
No product liability is accepted in the event of improper use.
Avoid the use of ointments, lotions or any substances including grease or acids.
Do not make any changes to the product. Failure to comply with this requirement may adversely affect
product performance, thereby voiding any product liability.
Side effects involving the body as a whole have not been reported to date. Correct tting is assumed.
Do not put the ManuLoc on too tightly as this could lead to local pressure symptoms. In rare cases,
constriction of blood vessels and nerves may occur. If this happens, loosen the straps of the ManuLoc
and, if necessary, check the size of your ManuLoc.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity reactions harmful to health have not been reported to date. In the following
conditions such aids should only be tted and worn after consultation with your medical advisor:
Skin disorders/injuries in the relevant part of the body, particularly if in ammation is present.
Likewise, any raised scars with swelling, redness and excessive heat build-up
Impaired sensation and circulatory disorders of the arm/hand
(e. g. diabetes mellitus)
Impaired lymph drainage, including soft tissue swellings of uncertain origin located away from the
tted support.

Cleaning instructions
Note: Never expose the ManuLoc to direct heat (e.g. heaters, sunlight, in your car, etc.)! This may
damage the material, which can impair the effectiveness of the ManuLoc.
The sewn-in label of the ManuLoc, which contains information on the product name, size,
manufacturer, washing instructions and CE certi cation, is located in the insertion channel of the
central stay on the inside of the lower arm splint.
Fasten all Velcro straps before washing to avoid damage. Wash the ManuLoc separately by hand, using
a mild detergent.
Permissible conditions and places of use
In accordance with the indications (lower arm, wrist). See intended use.
Maintenance instructions
If handled and cared for correctly, the product is practically maintenance-free.
Assembly and tting instructions
The ManuLoc is supplied in an anatomically contoured state. The orthosis can be used for both the
right and left hand.
Technical speci cations / parameters, accessories
The ManuLoc is a stabilizing orthosis for the lower arm and wrist. It consists of a lower arm splint with
removable straps. There are no spare parts available.
Notes on reuse
The ManuLoc is intended for your treatment only. It has been adapted speci cally for you. For this
reason, do not pass the ManuLoc on to other people.
Warranty
Warranty is provided in accordance with the statutory provisions as well as the terms of supply and
contractual terms of Bauerfeind AG (AGB), as long as all the points mentioned above are observed.
If you have any complaints, please contact your medical retailer only. We would point out that only
clean goods can be dealt with.
Disposal
You can dispose of the product in accordance with national legal requirements.

General notes
• Check the optimal and individual t of the ManuLoc after the rst tting. Make corrections if
necessary.
• Practice the correct procedure for putting on the orthosis with the patient.
• The product must not be changed in any improper way. Failure to comply with this requirement may
adversely affect product performance, thereby voiding any product liability.
• The ManuLoc is intended for the treatment of one patient only.
The aluminum bars are anatomically contoured, but they still need to be individually adjusted to suit
the patient's anatomy.
Shaping the bars:
Carefully remove the bars from the insertion pockets and shape them to the anatomy of the

patient.
Reinsert the three bars into the pockets provided.
