Observe the maximum speed indi-
•
cated on the saw blade.
A
Hazard generated by tool de-
fects!
Keep the machine and accessories
•
in good repair. Observe the mainte-
nance instructions.
Prior to any use check the machine
•
for possible damage: before opera-
ting the machine all safety devices,
protective guards or slightly dama-
ged parts need to be checked for
proper function as specified. Check
to see that all moving parts work
properly and do not jam. Make sure
that all parts and accessories are
properly installed and safely secu-
red to ensure the safe and trouble-
free operation of the machine.
Do not use damaged or warped saw
•
blades.
Damaged protection devices or
•
parts must be repaired or replaced
by a qualified specialist. Have da-
maged switches replaced by a ser-
vice centre. Do not operate tool if
the switch cannot be turned ON or
OFF.
Keep handles free of oil and grease.
•
A
Risk of injury by noise!
Wear hearing protection.
•
For reasons of noise protection do
•
not use warped saw blades. A war-
ped blade is exiting vibrations to an
especially large extent, which
means noise.
A
Laser radiation hazard!
Laser beams can cause serious eye in-
juries. Never look into the laser outlet.

Safety Devices
Retractable blade guard (47)
32
The retractable blade guard protects
against unintentional contact with the
saw blade and from chips flying about.
37
38
Safety lock (48)
The safety lock blocks the retractable
blade guard: the saw blade remains co-
vered and the crosscut saw cannot be
lowered as long as the safety lock is
not disengaged.
Fence (49)
The fence keeps the workpiece from
46
moving while it is cut. The fence must
always be installed during sawing.
