: Place the unit on the ground.
: Make sure you have a firm footing.
Hold the unit firmly on the ground
with your left hand on the housing
and press down.
: Hold the starter grip with your right
hand.
Models with ErgoStart:
: Pull the starter grip steadily.

Models without ErgoStart:
: Pull the starter grip slowly until you
feel it engage and then give it a brisk
strong pull.
Do not pull out the starter rope all
the way – it might otherwise break.
: Do not let the starter grip snap back.
Guide it slowly back into the housing
so that it can rewind properly.
As soon as the engine runs
: Blip the throttle trigger (3) –
the choke knob moves to the normal
run position # – the engine returns
to idle speed.
If the engine stops while the choke
knob is on g or during acceleration:
: Set choke knob to f and continue
cranking until engine runs.
