8.4 Oil
8.4.1 Oil quality, gearbox
Gear oil designation for mixers (AMG) is according to
DIN 51502: ISO VG 68. Gear oil designation for
flowmakers (AFG) is according to ISO VG 220.
8.4.2 Oil quality, motor
Use only special dielectric oil: Shell Fluid 4600 or
Nycodiel 1244. Using other type of oil may damage
the winding material.

Explosion-proof mixers and flowmakers do
not have oil inside the motor.
8.5 Oil change
1. Place the mixer or the flowmaker in a horizontal
position on a support. Place a transparent
container underneath to collect oil.
CAUTION
Pressurised system
Minor or moderate personal injury
‐
The oil chamber may be under pres-
sure. Loosen the crews carefully and
do not remove them until the pressure
is fully relieved.
1. Remove the screw (2).
2. Remove the oil drain screw (1), and allow a
sample of the oil to drain from the chamber into
the container. Leave the oil in the container for
30
approximately 10 minutes, and check if it contains
water. If the oil contains water, replace the shaft
seal.
1. Clean and refit the oil drain screw (1).
2. Fill oil into the oil chamber through the filling hole
(2).
3. Refit the screw (2).

9. Storing the product
Store mixers or flowmakers in a dry location in which

the temperature is not subject to major fluctuations.
Do not expose the flowmaker propeller blades to
direct sunlight.
If the mixer or flowmaker has been stored for more
than a year, the gearbox oil must be changed. The oil
must be changed even if the unit has never been in
use. It is necessary due to the natural aging of
mineral oil lubricants.
Dispose of used oil in accordance with lo-
cal regulations.
