B – Basic information
1. Condensation technology
With condensing boilers, the heat contained in the smoke is also used with a heat exchanger to
achieve optimum efficiency. The water condenses due to the lower temperature of the flue gases.
The condensed water must generally be treated before it is discharged into the discharge pipework in
order to satisfy the applicable directives.
2. Neutralisation
The term « Neutralisation » is defined as follows for the treatment of the condensed water generated
by condensing boilers:
Increase in value of pH of acidic condensed water beyond 6.5.
C – Description of product
1. Nameplate
The nameplate is located on the housing of the neutralisation station. The information contained on
the nameplate of your installation will allow us to more quickly process your queries and orders.
Whenever requesting any information, please indicate the type, reference and serial number.
2. Utilisation in compliance with regulations
The Neutra N-70 and N-210 installations are designed for neutralisation (increase in value of pH
beyond 6.5) of the condensed water produced by gas condensing heat generators (condensing
boilers) and/or gas exhaust systems made of steel, plastic, glass, graphite or ceramic.
The iron, manganese, aluminium and zinc content of the condensates can block the neutralisation
granulate and thus strongly disturb the neutralisation function. As may be necessary, the compatibility
should be checked. Regular cleaning of the installation and replacement of the granulate should be
scheduled regularly.
When the condensed water shows an extremely high volume of fouling, we recommend filtering
upstream of the neutralisation station.
This station can only be used once all the components have been correctly installed. The safety
equipment must not, under any circumstances, be removed, bridged or inhibited in any way
whatsoever.
To ensure use fully compliant with the regulations, the guidelines given in this manual and the safety
rules applicable at the system installation site must be strictly observed, including the maintenance
and inspection intervals.
