PUTTING IT TOGETHER
Handlebar assembly: After you unpack all the parts of your new bike and remove all packa-
ging, loosen the screw in the upper part of the stem holding the handle-bars. Adjust the handle-
bars to their estimated fi nal position and slightly tighten the screw. Put the stem into the hole in
the frame in the front of the bike so the fork is parallel to the handle-bars and the front 'V' brake
is positioned forward. Then tighten the handle-bar frame with the central screw of the stem. The
fi nal position can be altered after you are completely fi nished with the assembly of your bike and
after it has been adjusted to the height of your child. Make sure you tighten all screws properly.
Saddle adjustment: To properly complete this step, put the seat post into the seat post
frame hole and adjust it to the proper height of the child. The proper height of the saddle is
set when one foot of the rider is resting on one pedal in its lowest position and the same leg is
fully straight while the rider is sitting on the bike. It is necessary to maintain a saddle height
which respects the minimum height mark on the seat post. In case there is no mark the mini-
mum height is two times the diameter of the seat post. That is, if the diameter of the seat post
is twenty-two millimeters the minimum height is forty-four millimeters. Tighten the screw.
Installation of the front wheel: Turn you bike so that it is handle-bars down/wheels up.
Loosen the brake wire and wheel nuts and put the wheel into the fork so the pads with "bills"
are outside the fork. Turn the bills to match the holes of the fork. Tighten the nuts from both
sides with equal strength, and make sure that the wheel is centered.
Setting the front brake (in case it is there): put a free end of the cable into the brake
lever on the handle bars (in most cases you use left lever for the front brake and right lever
for the back brake). To set the brake jaws make them connect completely with the pads on
the sides of the rims while using the brake. Recommended step: Loosen tension bolts of the
sides of the V brake arms. Apply the cable and tighten it so the bike can both rotate easily and
brake suffi ciently. Equal run of the V brake arms will be set with the help of tension bolts. The
length between the lever and grab of the handlebars will be set with the help of the bolt that
is situated on the side of the lever.
IMPORTANT: Any caretaker must make clear that the infant rider knows how to safely
ride a bike and how to properly use its brakes (torpedo brake, V brake, etc.) see: how to use
your children´s bike.
Installing the pedals: The pedals are marked with a letter on the bolt - R (right), L (left).
The direction of the bolt, and arms to which the pedals are screwed, diff ers for each pedal.
When standing forwards over the bicycle, the right (R) pedal should be on the right side, the
left (L) pedal should be on the left. Be sure to properly tighten the pedals.
Installing the training wheels: If training wheels are included with your bicycle and you
wish to install them, fi rst unscrew 1x nut on the right and 1x nut on the left side of the rear
wheel. Place the profi le washer onto the axis, then add the wheels. Adjust the height so that,
when the bicycle is upright, the training wheels on both sides remain 1-2cm above the ground (If
necessary, adjust to more or less than the recommended range). Replace the nut and tighten. To
uninstall the training wheels, follow the same assembly procedure, in reverse order.
WARNING:
Training wheels provide balance for beginners however they can not assure
perfect balance on uneven surfaces or while leaning. That is why an adult companion is necessary.
Kickstand: If your bike has a kickstand its height should be adjusted so that the bike does not
fall on its own. INSTALLING KICKSTAND: Turn the nuts from the hub of the back wheel on the
left, and extend the kickstand tightening the nuts (see picture)
Refl ectors: If your bike has refl ectors place the white refl ector on the upper section of the
front fork (use the same hole as the fender) and place the red refl ector under the saddle
putting it through the seat post. Tighten all screws.
HOW TO RIDE YOUR BIKE:
While on the bike a rider must hold on to the handle-bars with both hands, sit on a seat which
