Stroke limiting port H*J***(G)/S/H/A **
A stroke limiting port can be installed on gravity-return (G) cylinders without stop ring, as a safety
measure. When the plunger reaches the maximum stroke, the restriction port vents out the oil to
prevent the plunger from exceeding the maximum stroke.
Do not extend the plunger beyond the red safety mark. Over-extension can damage the seal.
WARNING
Use extreme care when operating the cylinder with a high oil flow pump. The oil flow from
the pump can be higher than the oil flow capacity of the restriction port. This can result in
over-extension of the plunger.
Never remove or plug the port, or substitute a conventional port.
Oil that escapes can cause serious personal injury.

WARNING
•
Maximum working pressure 360 bar.
•
Attach extension tube(s) only to the cylinder, never to the plunger.
•
Attach accessories with extended and pressurized plunger
Forces must be properly transmitted, at the centre of the base plates and the saddle. The two planes
between which the pressure is exerted, must be in parallel. Maximum two extension tubes may be
coupled by means of a connecting socket.
Maximum total length with mounted accessories in (partial) extended situation:

Lowering
•
Set the pressure relief valve on the pump to "neutral". The plunger will retract.
Refer to the user manual of the pump and the control valve.
NOTICE
On gravity-return and spring-return cylinders, the return speed is influenced by the hose
length, volume and other flow-resistances in the line.
On hydraulic-return cylinders (double-acting), the return speed is determined by the pump.
When using a manifold block or choke valve, the return speed is controlled by the operator.
WARNING
To lower the load controlled, you may need a control valve. Consult your Holmatro dealer.
