CONDITIONS OF USE: the USBy device bases its operation on the Internet connection.
Therefore we recommend that you power the USBy device to the USB port of your Router or
to an electrical outlet near the Router (1-3m). This will ensure the best conditions for using
the device. If these conditions are not respected, the service provided by the device may not
be guaranteed.
Please, follow the instructions below to correctly install USBy.
2.1 USBy Installation
In order to use USBY we need to perform 2 operations:
 Connect USBy to the Router/ Modem to be able to access the Internet
 Register USBy on the ControlloCasa site to receive alerts
2.1.1 Connect USBy to the Router / Modem
1. Turn on USBy by preferably connecting it to the USB port of your Router/Modem or to
the electrical outlet using an adapter (e.g. adapter used to charge mobile phones) near
the Router / Modem (ca. 1-3m)
IMPORTANT :
In the USBy v4 version, the blue LED is always on.
In the USBy v5 version, the blue LED inside the device remains off.
Once the connection procedure to the Router has been completed (see par. 2.1.1),
the blue LED inside the device flashes to signal a loss of connection with the router
or the ControlloCasa server
In the USBy v6 version, the internal blue LED performs:
- Continuous flashes when USBy is not configured
- No blinking when USBy is configured and connected with the ControlloCasa server
- Continuously 3 flashes and a pause when USBy has lost connection with the Router
or the ControlloCasa server
2. From your PC/Mac open the list of WiFi networks and select the network created by
USBy (e.g. USBy-V6_yyyyyy where V6 identifies the version of USBy)
It is normal for the WiFi networks icon to show that there is no Internet access
(sometimes highlighted with the "!" symbol). In fact, you are currently connected to
the local network created by USBy which cannot access the Internet.
